Bobby Kerr’s Mustang Act is absolutely amazing. I bet you’ve never seen a machine gun for riding in a convertible, and he has the three best dogs I’ve ever trained. The calf rush of some high school students in the area was very amusing. I’m not sure if I enjoy watching kids try to harness more of a calf or watching the Lion’s Club row do their best to create an ocean that calves aren’t supposed to penetrate…but they did.
Bull riding, bronze breaking, steering, tethering, barrel racing, Keith Easley as the Rodeo clown…it’s all great, but the lamb rags is still one of my favorites. On Friday night, the excited crowd enjoyed several rounds that were going from one end of the ring to the other. But, on the second night in a row, it was the rider who drew the sheep called “Q-Tip” who was our hero.
Jacob Lawson’s impressive run earned him 96 points and a championship trophy. Gunner Walker was right behind him with 94 points. Trail Wilkes rode 93 points and Colby Manry was right behind him with 89 points. Watch the ride video below as well as photos of the riders.
