Video shows strangers jumping out of their cars to help a driver who lost control during a medical episode

Several strangers set off to work when a driver lost control of her car on a busy road in Boyton Beach, Florida. The Police Department published a video of the accident, showing several drivers getting out of their cars and helping to stop the car as it stormed into oncoming traffic.

“If you see any video in your feed today, make it this video,” the police department wrote on Facebook. The video begins with a car getting out of its car and running down the road after a car has started heading towards the intersection.

This woman noticed that her co-worker was having a seizure while driving. She ran down the road, waving her arms, trying to get the other drivers’ attention.

Good Samaritans help a driver who has a medical seizureUpdate #2: We have been in contact with several “Good Samaritans” and will honor/reunite them with the woman they rescued tomorrow afternoon at the Police Department Headquarters. We don’t think it is an understatement to say that these good Samaritans are an inspiration for good in our country today! Update: You are all up to speed! We have been contacted with many good Samaritans. We coordinate everyone’s schedules to gather them with the woman they saved. We will let you know once it is confirmed. Thank you. 💙 If you watch any video in your feed today, make it this video. A group of Good Samaritans set out for action on May 5 to help a woman who suffered from a medical episode while driving on Walbright Road. As her car slowly rolled into the Congress Avenue intersection, her co-worker walked across the street, waving her arms, to get the attention of the other motorists. Her co-worker was in another car and saw her dangling over the steering wheel. Several people got out of their cars and worked together to stop the moving car. A woman grabbed a dumbbell from her car and a man used it to smash the rear passenger’s side window. Then another man climbed out of the window to open the passenger side door. The car was then parked and the Good Samaritans pushed it to the nearby 7-Eleven parking lot where a nurse who was on the phone with 911 provided medical care until the fire department arrived. We are sharing this video in the hope of knowing the identities of all the strangers who came together to save this woman’s life. They are heroes and we want to gather them back in the police department to get to know them and meet the woman they saved. We need your help to do this. If you or someone you know is present in this video or has helped you in any way, please contact PIO Stephanie Slater at [email protected]

Several people who noticed it worked together to stop the car as it rolled forward. “A woman grabbed a dumbbell from her car and a man used it to smash the rear passenger side window,” the police department wrote. Then another man climbed out of the window to open the passenger side door.

The car was then parked and the Good Samaritans pushed it into the nearby 7-Eleven car park, where a nurse on the 911 phone provided medical care until the fire department arrived.

The police department said it was influenced by the good Samaritans who were brave enough to help the driver. They put up the video in hopes of getting to know strangers and it quickly went viral.

“You’re all running fast!” The department wrote in an update to the publication. “We have been contacted with many good Samaritans. We coordinate everyone’s schedules to gather them with the woman they rescued.”

The administration said they would honor the good Samaritans and reunite them with the woman they rescued.

In an email to CBS News, a representative for the department said they will broadcast a live event with the eight honorees on Facebook on Friday at 1 p.m.
