Finding a car in pretty much as original condition is very, very hard. Most classic cars have undergone some form of refurbishment throughout their lives, and will have had a lot of components replaced or paintwork updated, and so on and so forth.

However, this immaculate looking 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, for sale via Mecum Auctions, is a bit of a time capsule. It has had just one owner until 2021 and is in highly original, garage kept, unrestored condition and is a truly remarkable survivor.

An Almost All Original Corvette

A car like this really does not come up very often. The Mecum listing states that the car is in such good condition thanks to being in a garage for many years. The Corvette has had just one owner for virtually all its life, right up until 2021.

Originally, it got ordered and then purchased by Joseph C. Callahan of Bronson Road, Fairfield, CT, and delivered passed to him in April 1967. It was then garaged at Bronson Road, for its whole life before the owner sadly away in March 2021. Mr. Callahan had no direct heirs, so it went to a local classic auto center, where it received a new battery.

So much of this car is original, it’s actually real. Under the hood of this classic is the original Tri-Power L71 427 ci 435 hp engine, and it also has its original M21 close ratio four-speed transmission. More originality ensues with the 3.70 Positraction rear differential and original color on the exterior, the gorgeous Goodwood Green. If you step inside this incredible car, you will see a stunning, all original, black vinyl interior.

Plenty Of 1960s Mod-Cons

There are plenty of original mod-cons inside this epic Corvette. Power windows are a brilliant feature, as is the telescopic steering column. For those who like to listen to music on the move, the original AM/FM radio is still in the Corvette.

This Corvette was actually ordered with a soft top delete, but it came with a hardtop only — another fact that helps to make this car so interesting. The owner documented the car with its original dealer paperwork, window sticker and Protect-O-Plate, and it has never been judged or shown off to the world. Hopefully, its new owner keeps this car in this unbelievable original condition.
