Both diesel and petrol engines now have an Integrated Starting Generator (ISG) for intelligent assistance at lower engine speeds like a Gen2 mild hybrid engine. This ensures superior power delivery. The second generation compact alternator is able to support the combustion engine with up to 15 kW (20 hp) of additional power and 200 Nm of additional torque. The ISG uses a 48-volt electrical system that ensures functions such as slip, boost or energy recovery.
