Diana claimed that “reliable sources” had informed her of the information, however, she did not reveal who said the information, as documented in a memo she said she gave Mischon and what is known as a “Mischon Note.” The documents were revealed in Operation Paget as Metropolitan Police Commissioner John Stevens investigated the incident later in 2004.
Stevens later recounted to Us Weekly on August 18, 2022, how he discussed with young Prince William and Prince Harry about the crash and death of their mother “It was a difficult thing.” [to do]’ He said. “So, I went with two other people who were part of the investigation [including a] detective inspector, and [when we were] outdoor [at Kensington Palace]It was said, “No, they just want to see you,” that’s me. ‘ He continued, ‘So, I went there and we had … more than an hour, probably, I don’t remember exactly how long. I outlined what the conclusions were for about 10 or 15 minutes, and then the rest of the time they were asking me questions, which you’d expect because they didn’t know the circumstances of their mother’s death, and where [and] When she died, what did she say, and then, I don’t want to announce what the conversations were.” He revealed how Harry and William felt the news at the time, “What they were angry about, they announced publicly, were the paparazzi who thought they were behind what happened by chasing the car and making vehicle or incite them to do so. The car is traveling at 75 miles per hour. They weren’t happy with that. I can tell you.”

In an interview with People in 2016, Prince Harry spoke about his mother’s legacy and how he made his late mother “proud”. “All I want to do is make my mom incredibly proud,” he said at the time. “That’s all I wanted to do.” He continued, “When she died, there was a huge gap, not just for us but also for a great many people all over the world. If I can try to fill in a tiny bit of that, the job is done. I’ll have, in a good way, to spend the rest of it.” My life is trying to fill that void as much as possible. And so will William.” Although his mother motivates Harry, he also maintains that he makes his own choices in his life separate from what Diana wants him to do. “I enjoy what I do. But I don’t do things because I feel as though my mother wants me to do them.” I know I have a lot of my mom inside me. I’m doing a lot of the things you’re likely to do.”
