The amazing 1967 Iso Grifo GL series I can be yours

When we look at online auction sites we often find some absolutely beautiful cars, and these don’t have to be rare machines like the Spyker C8 either.

There are so many joys classic cars There is a new owner waiting.

However, this particular car is a real rarity. Currently listed on the Bring a Trailer is a 1967 Iso Grifo Series I GL coupe, it spent some time in Germany, Sweden and Norway before eventually being imported to America in 2018, one of only 330 of its kind ever built.

Only 330 of these cars were produced between 1965 and 1969.

This car was first registered in Germany, the Chassis 151, before spending time in Sweden, then Norway and finally America.

Renovated in Norway in the early 2000s, this particular example from the GL Series in a stunning shade of silver, applied during the renovation.

Previously, this car had red paint; The chassis is made mostly of steel but with an aluminum hood, and has a Giorgetto Giugiaro Fastback design.

Some of its features are horizontal sail hatches, pocket-shaped door handles and double-bullet side mirrors on the fenders.

The Iso Grifo is a really nice car


Borrani wire wheels are the name of the game here, and they’re all secured with three ears.

Step into this beautiful vehicle and you’ll find a pleated blue leather interior, the leather sitting atop the bucket seats, door panels, console, and rear shelf.

There’s color-matching loop carpeting over the cabin floors – there aren’t many faults here.

But the Grifo has blue shoulder straps, a locked glove box, console compartment, power windows and a Clarion cassette player.

Iso Grifo features Chevrolet power under the hood


As has been the case with a lot of Grifos cars, this one has a Chevrolet V8 engine under the hood.

Specifically, it’s the 327ci Corvette that powers this particular example that puts out 350 horsepower, and makes a great V8 rumble.

The car went into service in 2020, which saw the four-cylinder carburetor rebuild and the fuel filter and fuel sender replaced.

For the transmission, Grifo uses a Borg-Warner fully synchronized four-speed manual, with a Salisbury limited-slip differential, which drives the car’s rear wheels.
