Tesla mosaic that contained thousands of pictures, drawings and drawings is now heading towards an unknown destiny in space.
Not only did Tesla send this set of visual human memories into space, but some customers who had 25 or more referrals were able to send the data of their choice to be sent as well. This data was saved on a memory card and placed in a metal case that Tesla referred to as time capsules.
This unique payload of human data was sent from planet Earth into space aboard a Falcon 9 rocket aboard the Korean Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO) mission on August 4, 2022.
Tesla laser engraved the image chosen by the award winners on the mosaic that was later sent into space.
The vast amount of data visualized on the mosaic and information stored in many of the Time Capsule data storage cards may help aliens understand human life on Earth. Although these SD cards are stored in secure metal boxes, it is unknown how long they can withstand extreme conditions in deep space and data remains intact on these devices.
Tesla has released a short video of this unique endeavor by any car company – making the images and memories of its customers live in space forever.
Let’s see what Tesla has to say and the reactions its customers posted on Twitter after sending Tesla Mosaic and Time Capsules into space.
