Tata Punch will soon have a new competitor in India

Tata Punch did well for the domestic automaker in terms of sales. It takes direct on the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Mahindra KUV100 along with Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnet at exorbitant prices. The Tata Punch mini SUV will soon have a new competitor in the form of the Citroen C3 which is due to arrive in June 2022. The French automaker says the C3 is a “hatchback with a twist” that features an SUV-ish stance such as high ground clearance, a raised seating position and a bonnet High.

The new small citroen He will be challenged by multiple models from Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Ignis to Kiger and Magnite under 4m. C3 supports the CMP modular platform, which is highly customized for the Indian market. The architecture uses more than 90 percent of locally sourced components. It will also support small SUVs coming from Jeep in India. Interestingly, the Citroen C3 will be among the brand’s first model to be launched under the C-cubed programme.

The new Citroen small car’s engine setup will likely include a 1.2-liter, naturally aspirated three-cylinder and a 12-liter, three-cylinder turbo petrol unit. The naturally aspirated engine will come with a manual gearbox and delivers close to 80 horsepower. The turbo petrol unit may come with two trims – 108 hp and 128 hp and options for manual and automatic gearboxes.

The C3 gets an athletic treatment inside and out. It has a textured panel that runs across the width of the dashboard, flat-bottom steering, a phone holder and intricate air vents. For connectivity purposes, the model has a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity along with a digital instrument cluster.

The C3 is 3.98 m long and will have a width and height of approximately 1,829 mm and 1,474 mm, respectively. Some key design elements including LED split headlights, Citroen’s signature twin-slot grille, black livery, pronounced wheel arches, alloy wheels and LED taillights.
