It looks like a revised Mercedes GLE is on the way, with SUV prototypes spotted.
This variant of the BMW X5 and Audi Q7 seems to fit in with some light visual tweaks and some new tricks under the skin.
2022 Mercedes GLE Design
The camouflage on this Mercedes GLE prototype is very light, so you can see the light changes made to the fenders.
The front grille appears to have been turned upside down, while the air intakes have bucked an increasing trend and are now apparently smaller than the outgoing car.
Little has changed at the rear, although subtle camouflage suggests the taillights can be modified – much like the headlights.
2022 Mercedes GLE to improve interior design and infotainment
There are no shots yet on the cabin of the new Mercedes GLE, but expect it to receive some subtle improvements over the current car’s cabin.
Most likely it is a new infotainment system in the shape of a picture as seen on the latest C-Class, which runs on the latest version of Mercedes’ MBUX system. This includes the ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice assistant, which was recently improved to understand different sounds in the car to allow for certain functions such as adjusting the individual seat heater.
2022 Mercedes GLE engines and hybrids
It is possible that the range of engines in the improved Mercedes GLE will not change much, although it is likely that mild hybrid technology will be introduced to all of them.
As a result, expect a good selection of powerful petrol and diesel engines as well as a couple of plug-in hybrids. AMG versions should follow to..
2022 Mercedes GLE price and release date
The improved Mercedes GLE will likely go on sale sometime in 2022, with a full reveal possible before the end of this year.
Expect the price to be quite similar to the released car, likely around £60,000.
