Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Series 2 (2023)

Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Series II

Rolls-Royce products have an extended life, eventually becoming timeless expressions of refined taste, beauty and luxurious perfection. The Phantom holds a unique and unique position in this regard, being respected for its timeless elegance.

The eighth generation of the Phantom was introduced in 2017. When creating the new expression, Rolls-Royce designers and engineers were guided by the demands of customers, who pleaded with Rolls-Royce not to make any major changes to an already iconic car. . In response to these customer demands, only the lightest design touches, embellishments and modifications were incorporated. In fact, it is not about what needs to be changed, but, in fact, what needs to be preserved and protected.

new expression

The most obvious and important feature to keep is the controlling presence of the Phantom. This is further enhanced by a new, polished horizontal line between the daytime running lights above the Pantheon Grille. This gives the Phantom a new and assertive novelty, reflecting its driver-focused character.

A subtle engineering change to the Pantheon Grille makes the ‘RR’ badge of honor and Spirit of Ecstasy amulet even more noticeable when viewed from the front. The network itself is now backlit, a feature that first appeared and was popularized on Ghost. The headlights are embellished with intricate laser-cut star lights, creating a visual connection with the Starlight Headliner inside, and adding even more surprise and glamor to the Phantom’s nighttime presence.

The Phantom’s side profile retains the Rolls-Royce’s short front and long rear suspension, long wheelbase and wide C-pillar, the latter giving more occupant privacy. The silhouette maintains the sleek main lines extending from the euphoric spirit to the tiered tailpipe. The “separate belt” line begins at the front fender and curves gently toward the tailgate, emphasizing the car’s long proportions from dash to axle, before falling gently toward the lantern-like taillights. The severely undercut “waft line” creates a powerful shadow, visually referring to the label’s unparalleled “Magic Carpet Ride”.

The profile has been improved with a set of new wheels. The stainless steel 3D wheel with triangular sides is available for running in a fully or partially polished finish. Alternatively, the Phantom may be honored with a truly elegant disc wheel, reminiscent of the romance in Rolls-Royce cars with engines of the 1920s. This disc wheel is produced from polished stainless steel and black varnish, perfectly enveloping the feeling of flying on the ground.

In response to Phantom customers who previously ordered a chrome tinted grille frame, black bonnet handle, windshield surround and side frame finishers, these things may now be up and running. This aesthetic now enables Rolls-Royce to transform the Phantom into the lightest or darkest aspect of darkness.

The Phantom’s luxurious interior is virtually unchanged: the steering wheel has been made a little thicker, providing a more communicative and immediate point of contact for the owner-driver.

Phantom and Phantom Extended have their own distinct personalities, representing two different seats of power. The Phantom is now hugely favored by the ever-increasing number of customers who want to be in the driving seat themselves. For those who prefer to drive on the road from the back seat, the Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended delivers an ultra-luxury chauffeur-driven driving experience.

Rolls Royce Connected

Now, Phantom includes the debut of Rolls-Royce Connected. This allows the owner to send an address directly to the vehicle from Whispers, a private Rolls-Royce members app, providing seamless navigation to an event, restaurant, dealership, or even the home of Rolls-Royce itself.

“Rolls-Royce Connected” also displays the vehicle’s location, safety and current “health” status on Whispers; At the touch of a button, the owner can contact a preferred dealer for any maintenance requirements or information about the vehicle.

luxury poles

Phantom, as the flagship product of a brand, attracts the elite class of Rolls-Royce customers. Established and successful, at the top of their field and often in the public eye, these are determined and demanding. It is no coincidence that the Phantom attracts the most ambitious and challenging bespoke commission ever undertaken by Rolls-Royce.

The resulting creations – each a masterpiece in their own right – illustrate a broader truth: since its inception, the Phantom has always been what the client wanted; Not just the “best car in the world”, but the best car for them and their world.

There is clearly no such thing as a “typical” phantom client. By extension of the ‘luxury magnates’, they may be younger or older, modern or traditional, self-made or from well-established wealth. Their committees reflect a full range of interests and influences. On the one hand, Phantom takes on a subversive, semi-rebellious character – young, dynamic, and daring. On the other hand, Phantom turns into an ode to luxury and eternity.

The challenge for Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective is to accommodate this vast expanse of customer characteristics and desires in a single product. Thus, the eighth generation of the Phantom has been intentionally designed to offer a “blank canvas” of bespoke personalization, capable of becoming what the customer desires, and a true reflection of their individual style and personality.

Phantom’s great strength and appeal is that it allows customers to place themselves anywhere between these “luxury poles”, and define luxury on their own terms. And where that point lies, they assert that the Phantom itself – technically, physically, aesthetically and dynamically – remains “the best car in the world”.

Phantom Platino: The return of luxury textiles

To celebrate the launch of the Phantom Series II and to demonstrate Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke ability, the brand has created a new bespoke masterpiece, the Phantom Platino, named after the silvery white color of the platinum precious metal.

The Phantom Platino continues to explore Rolls-Royce in textile interiors, a story that began in 2015 with the launch of Serenity, the Phantom Bespoke Bespoke car with a hand-painted and hand-embroidered silk interior. Predicting the next step on this important journey, Phantom Platino introduces materials other than leather, a Rolls-Royce exploration area and movement that shows greater acceptance of alternative interior upholstery.

Repeating the brand’s formative days, the front seats on the Phantom Platino are finished in luxurious Rolls-Royce leather, while the rear seats are upholstered in canvas.

The beautiful harmony of Platino’s interior decoration is achieved by combining two different types of fabrics; One was created in an Italian mill for its durable and luxurious look, and the other was derived from bamboo fibres, selected for its lustrous appearance.

Both substances share an original repetition pattern based on an abstract interpretation of the ecstatic spirit. In silk textiles, the design is smaller and woven into the fabric for a more visually stimulating finish. They also appear in the Phantom’s Gallery, right on the passenger’s line of sight, and on key focal points such as the armrest and center console. Bamboo canvas is embroidered with larger icons, giving a tufted look popular in interior design. This more flexible material is applied to the lower elements from the inside where they will need to withstand the most friction.

The same design also appears on the Phantom’s dashboard clock. The surround is made of 3D printed ceramic, a truly contemporary implementation of a traditional material. Set in a wood suite with a frosted finish, the cabin’s chromatic characteristics take the Phantom to a beautiful and unprecedented level of opulence.

Phantom’s largest canvas is the Starlight Headliner. In a unique design created specifically for the Rolls-Royce Platino, the “stars” are positioned to draw the eye back, with exotic shooting stars tracing the sweeping arc of the pattern.

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, says, “We are fully aware of our customers’ appreciation and love for their Phantoms. They felt it could not be improved upon; but while naturally respecting this viewpoint, we believe it is always possible, and even necessary Truly, kindly proceed forward in our quest for ultimate perfection. All minor changes we have made to the new Phantom Series II have been meticulously considered and implemented. As Sir Henry Royce himself said: “Small things make perfection, but perfection is no small thing.”
