Jesse Auge and Emmett Smith will be campaigning for the Camaro SS starting in 2022

Charlotte, Nick – Jesse Iwuji Motorsports will be introducing the Chevrolet Camaro SS into the NASCAR Xfinity Series starting in the 2022 season. The team is owned by Jesse Iwuji and Hall of Famer Emmett Smith. Iwoji will also be the driver of the #34 Camaro SS, to empower people even more.

“There can be no more genuine manufacturer partnership for me than one with Chevrolet,” said Euge. “When I decided to pursue a professional racing career, I started getting a seat in my Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06, which I still own today. The story of going from Navy to NASCAR and having my Corvette play a major role in that journey makes this partnership not only an authentic, But it’s inspiring for anyone looking to achieve big goals and dreams. This journey gives people hope and shows how rewarding life really is for those who stay strong enough, long enough.”

Iwuji attended the US Naval Academy and is currently an officer in the Navy Reserve after seven years of active duty. Five jobs began in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2020-2021, and 15 began in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series from 2018-2021.

We are excited to announce this partnership and go racing in 2022 starting in Daytona.”

Iwuji and Smith first met when Smith sponsored a car driven by Iwuji at the 2020 race. The pair helped start Jesse Iwuji Motorsports in 2021.

Chevrolet will provide engineering support and direction to Jesse Iwuji Motorsports and assist in the development of team members.

Chevrolet won the NASCAR Xfinity Series Manufacturers Championship in 2021 for the 23rd time, more than any other manufacturer. It was Chevrolet’s seventh title since the Camaro SS became its flagship car in the series in 2013. Chevy drivers won 15 of the 33 races last year.

Jesse Iwuji Motorsports will run the entire season, starting at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, February 19.
