By comparison, the CR-V’s 0-60 mph acceleration time is 7.8 seconds for the gas-powered model and 7.5 seconds for the CR-V Hybrid. Honda also offers a more powerful and faster Civic Type R, but it’s not available for 2022. You can either get the 2021 version or wait for 2023.
Another performance advantage of the Civic is its maneuverability. It can drive through curves and around corners more easily than the CR-V.

For efficiency, the Civic has gas miles up to 36 mpg combined. By comparison, the CR-V has an estimated fuel economy of 30 mpg combined for the gas-powered model and 38 mpg for the CR-V Hybrid.

The CR-V is larger than the Civic, which results in more interior space. It has a total passenger volume of 105.9 cubic feet and a maximum cargo capacity of 75.8 cubic feet. By comparison, the Civic has a total passenger volume of 99.0 cubic feet. As for storage space, the Civic has a maximum cargo capacity of 14.8 cubic feet for the sedan version and 24.5 cubic feet for the hatchback.

The CR-V has the advantage of in-house features and technologies. Unlike the Civic, the CR-V offers wood-grain interior trim, seat memory functionality and a hands-free power tailgate.

As for warranty coverage, both the Civic and CR-V are backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile base warranty and a 5-year/36,000-mile powertrain warranty. However, the CR-V is slightly more reliable than the CR-V. It has a JD Power reliability rating of 84/100, compared to 82/100 for the CR-V.

Which Honda costs more: 2022 Civic or 2022 CR-V? Pricing for the 2022 Civic starts at $22,350 MSRP for the Civic Sedan LX up to $29,850 MSRP for the Civic Hatchback Sport Touring. By comparison, the starting price for the 2022 CR-V ranges from $26,400 MSRP for the LX to $37,400 MSRP for the Touring Hybrid.
