First of all salaams Hari Raya to all Muslim readers, we hope you enjoyed the festivities with family and friends and were able to handle the last minute announcement of today’s banner well.
If you’re only heading back to your hometown today, we’ve got some bad news for you – the first session of the Raya Tours free period officially ended at 11:59pm last night.
The good news is that there’s another free period coming for the return trip – starting this weekend from midnight on Saturday 7 May until 11:59 pm on Sunday 8 May.
Here are some tips to make the most of your next free period.
1. If you are late, get off the highway before 11:59 PM and re-enter
To qualify for the toll-free number, you must exit the highway before the 11:59 p.m. deadline on Sunday. So what should you do if you are still on the highway before the free fare period ends?
Simply leave the motorway at your nearest exit to get a free toll for the trip you’ve already taken, and re-enter the motorway. This way, you only need to pay the remaining flight fee.
2. You can start your trip early as long as you leave during the free period
Just like point #1, the opposite applies. If you enter the highway before May 7, you can still get toll-free as long as you exit the highway after midnight on May 7.
You may want to take advantage of this to get most of your travel done outside of the free period to avoid crowding.
3. Remember the payment method you used to login!
If you have both TnG/SmartTAG and RFID in your car, this can be a little confusing.
PLUS reminds us that if you check in with TnG / SmartTAG, you need to checkout using the same payment method. If you enter using RFID, exit using RFID.
If you mix up the payment options, it will result in a maximum highway toll fee because your entry point is not registered in the exit point system.
But hey, if you think about it – if the number is toll-free, does that penalty still apply?
