FGCU Athletics Hosts Eagle Revolution Monday Night

Fort Myers, Florida. The biggest rally of the year, Eagle Revolution, will take place at Aliko Arena on Monday, August 22nd, with doors opening at 6:30pm. The event, hosted by FGCU Athletics and Welcome Committee Week, offers concert atmosphere, free food, and DJ MDOT from the Miami Heat.

“Eagle Revolution is my favorite event of the year besides baseball season opening day. The excitement of the students at Aliko Arena for Eagle Revolution is electric excitement,” said the head coach. David Tolet.

Dirty Birds are special guests as well as all current students, fans, faculty and staff are invited to this event. At Eagle Revolution, Dirty Birds picks up the first shirt from their official fan bundle of two shirts and is welcomed early to partake in VIP dining at the locally due Jersey Mike’s Hillmeyer-Tremont booth. Free food will be served after the event by 3 Pepper Burrito, Culver’s, Jersey Mike’s, Mission BBQ, Papa John’s, PepsiCo, Skillets and Wally’s Deli.

The Dirty Birds is the official student fan group for FGCU Athletics and the largest student organization on campus with over 1,000 members annually. All 15 athletics teams, coaches, student government officials, senators and association members, and students attend with President Michael V. Martin’s “Welcome Back” notes. Then President Martin stands with student-athletes, coaches, fans, E’Gals, Azul and Dirty Birds for the biggest Wings Up photo of the year. This year’s theme features the official launch of FGCU Athletics TikTok with the event built around trends and music.

Eagle Revolution, now in its 12th year, will also feature a special guest Champ Jackson He is a 12-year-old blues and rock singer in Punta Gorda. He will be joining DJ MDOT as the duo combine their vocals with an electric light show. Champ is best known for jamming with Brad Paisley and being a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2021. Champ Jaxon is presented at 7 p.m., followed by prizes and gifts that will be thrown to the crowd by all coaches and teams all night long.

The evening’s grand prizes will be announced by 21-time ASUN Champion women’s basketball coach Carl Simsko And the new mayor of Dunk City, the men’s basketball coach Pat Chambers.

“I can’t wait to be at Aliko Monday night for Eagle Revolution. I’ve heard so much about this amazing event for our fans and Dirty Birds. I look forward to meeting the students, especially the ones that were launched for Dirty Birds,” Chambers said.

One lucky student will photograph a Ford Focus from sponsor Coconut Point Ford, while another student will photograph a free FGCU tuition fee of $5,000. All current FGCU students attending are eligible to win prizes with a completed award card upon entry to the event.

Additional prizes include TVs, a Lenovo laptop, beach gear, Amazon gift cards, and many other prizes. You must have a current FGCU Student ID to win.

Nearly 800 Dirty Birds have visited joindirtybirds.com and have joined the Dirty Bird fan group so far this year. New online membership sales and renewals began in April and continued through the day before the event for $15. New membership is available at the event for $20. Only current students can be Dirty Birds and once they become members, they can renew each year for $15. The second Dirty Bird T-shirt is an FGCU basketball theme and will be distributed at Hoops and Halloween on Friday, October 14The tenthOver the weekend for the Eagle family.The 15 FGCU Athletics teams combined to win 92 regular seasons and CC titles in just 15 seasons at the Division I level. Additionally, in only 10 seasons of NCAA Division I post-season eligibility, the Eagles have had 45 teams or individuals competing in the NCAA tournaments.
