Calvary Church plans fireworks display

Calvary Baptist Church, 4765 S. Pioneer Road, Hampton, plans its annual fireworks display at dusk on July 3.

Everyone is invited to the parade and to church services that day, at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The church’s annual revival with Dr. Dennis Corley will be at 7 p.m. July 7-10 and during the regular Sunday Mass. Everyone is welcome.

A farmers market was held on Wednesday afternoon

The Township of Hampton Farmer’s Market takes place 3-7 p.m. Wednesday through mid-October in the lower parking lot at Hampton Community Center, 3101 McCully Road.

Sellers for 2022 include Bates & Hayes franchises, Carlos Aviles Farms, Cindy Munchies, Cunning House Supply Co, Gabriel’s Gardens, Halal Gyro Guys, Loafers Bread Co. and Mazzotta Winery, Olive & Marlowe, Russelton Bee Works, Saylors Farm, and Sweetwater Farms.

Dinner about to go to Heavenly Cuisine Catering 3-6:30 p.m. July 8 at Glenshaw Valley Presbyterian Church, 1520 Butler Plank Road, Shaler. The menu includes turkey, salsa, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, a crusty salad, mixed greens, and a cookie. Cost $15 per meal at time of pickup.

Big gardens tour on tap

Delight your senses and come on a tour of five magnificent gardens with the 14th annual Grand Schaller Tour.

The tour will take place from 11 am to 3 pm July 10. Sponsored by the Schaller Garden Club, the tour benefits Schaller North Hills Library.

Your ticket includes visits to five beautiful gardens with unique features such as raised flower gardens, wooded gardens, and beautiful hardwood landscapes, as well as a chance to win a gift basket. The event is held rainy or sunny.

Tickets can be purchased at the library for $15 in advance and $18 on the day of the tour. Tickets are also available online at shalerlibrary.org.

Double class reunion

Pine Richland High School’s 1970 and 1971 classes were long overdue, and they were reunited together during their fifty-second and fifty-first years, August 12-14. Rogers Memorial Duck Race

The Elfinwild Lions Club is sponsoring the Thomas Rogers Memorial Duck Race at 11 a.m. July 9 at Fawcett Field on McElheny Road in Schaller. Ducks are available for $5 and can be purchased at Schaller’s Bookstore or from a club member. Refreshments will also be available.

Farmers Market Nights

This year’s Food Truck & Farmer’s Market Summer Nights in Pine kicks off June 30th. The event will take place from 5-7 p.m. at Pine Community Park near the entrance along Pearce Mill Road. Items will be available for purchase from sellers including Dee’s Delights, Three Rivers Salsa, CorEats Mixes, Costello Apiaries, Rolling Meatballs, PitaLand Express, Cool Beans Taco Truck, Urban Trail Coffee, Kona Ice, Mr. Food Truck & Farmer’s Market Nights will also take place during the same hours on July 28 and again on August 25.

Movies in the garden

Bring a lawn chair and beach blanket and enjoy some good family-oriented movies at Richland Community Park. These are free events. Movies begin at dusk (around 8:30-9pm) and set in the large suite near the barn. Water and popcorn are available for purchase. In case of rain, movies will be cancelled.

Vacation Bible School

Salem Church Wexford Bible School will be holding the 5:30-7:45 p.m. recess from July 10-14. It is open to all children aged 4-11. This year’s theme is Food Truck Party, with God. For more information or to register, visit salem-umc.org.
