Cary, North Carolina – CarMax and Sheehy Auto Stores are expanding, but in different ways.

While CarMax outlined its aggressive hiring strategy for the remainder of the year, Sheehy added two additional decks to its portfolio of dealerships located near Washington, DC, Baltimore, Hagerstown, Maryland, and Richmond, Virginia.

According to a press release from Performance Brokerage Services, the company helped sell the Ultimate Subaru and Ultimate Buick GMC of Fredericksburg, Va. , from Randy Harris to Vince Sheehy at Sheehy Auto Stores.

“In preparation to look for additional growth opportunities, we worked with George Chaconas of Performance Brokerage to find the right opportunity in the right market,” Vince Sheehy said in the press release. “After numerous inquiries, George identified a dealer interested in the sale and worked with both parties to ensure a smooth transaction. Throughout the process, George was engaged and willing to do whatever was required to close the deal.”

Sheehy Auto Stores began as a small dealership owned by the Ford family in 1966. Sheehy now serves customers in Maryland, Virginia, and the nation’s capital with franchises such as Honda, Nissan, Lexus, INFINITI, Toyota, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Mazda, and Harley-Davidson.

Chaconas, the Southeast Partner of Performance Brokerage Services, shared that his relationship with Harris spans nearly six years.

“After visiting his shop in Fredericksburg, I knew he would consider selling one day,” Chaconas said. “I reached out to Randy on behalf of Vince Sheehy of Sheehy Auto Stores since previously helping Vince acquire Ron Rosner’s Toyota Stores in Fredericksburg and Stafford. In the end, through a lot of perseverance and follow-through, Randy agreed to consider the sale and was very comfortable and open-minded when talking to Vince.We quickly agreed on a price and terms acceptable to all parties.

“With a difficult shutdown process due to the pandemic and slow buy-and-sell approval from the manufacturer, we were very grateful to finally get to the closing table,” Chaconas continued. “I hope Randy does the best in his retirement, although he mentioned he still has a few years left in the auto industry. It has been an honor and a privilege to work with Vince and his team at Sheehy Auto Stores to help them acquire another strategic dealership in their current markets. and continue to grow their footprint.”

After the sale, Harris featured these anecdotes in the press release.

According to the announcement, dealers will remain in their current locations at 5150 and 5160 Jefferson Davis Highway in Fredericksburg.

This deal helps brokerage services maintain their pace for a record year, as the company expects to complete more than 70 deals in 2021.

CarMax is looking to fill 3,700 jobs by the end of the year

Meanwhile, the theme at CarMax nowadays is “Help Needed”.

On Tuesday, the retailer announced plans to hire 3,700 jobs across the company by the end of the year. While many retailers are hiring for temporary seasonal positions, CarMax said it is looking for candidates seeking to “build jobs.”

CarMax has more than 27,000 employees nationwide and is assigned to a variety of positions between customer experience centers, digital innovation centers, corporate websites and more than 220 stores nationwide.

High-demand jobs include:

Over 1,400 automotive technicians and service process partners (including detail workers, painters, and others) to support the company’s continued growth by helping to increase vehicle production.

CarMax said these partners will primarily work on refurbishing and preparing the vehicles for sale.

The company said auto technicians can earn anywhere from $19 to $53 an hour as that varies by location and experience.

Certain sites offer login bonuses of up to $7,500 for some jobs.

– 700+ Customer Service Advisors, Assistants & Managers: Work directly with customers online and over the phone to provide support during their vehicle purchase journey.

Customer service advisors can earn $18 to $20 an hour plus a monthly bonus.

CarMax said select sites offer login bonuses of up to $2,000 for some jobs and an additional bonus of $1,500 for bilingual assignments.

Positions are available in Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Raleigh, North Carolina, and Richmond, Virginia, with opportunities for some jobs to work from home.

Sales consultants work directly with customers to answer questions and help them find the best vehicle option for their needs.

Business Desk Partners guide customers through the administrative process associated with vehicle sales and support the functions of all store divisions.

– 150+ positions in digital technology, product science and data

With digital innovation at the core of the CarMax customer experience, the company said these roles offer technology solutions through machine learning, data science and software development to make the car buying process easier.

Positions include software engineers, architects, technology managers, technology analysts, and more. They include both hybrid and remote positions with offices located at CarMax’s Dallas Technology Innovation Center or the company’s headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.
