“Pink is one of my favorite colors to use in a scheme,” says Natalia. “For my London apartment, I chose a pink palette, in part because it’s a challenge that I like,” she says.
“In the wrong hands, it can seem simple, and I was eager to show a version that represented the glamor we create for our clients, something very personal and perhaps even more adventurous.”
1. Different layers of pink for interest and personality

Different layers of pink can create a rich, distinctive scheme that’s interesting—and Natalia says bold shades of pink can add drama to dining room ideas.
Consider mixing and matching different shades of pink, too; Baby pink dining room chairs are recommended with more vibrant lampshades, for example, or a cedar bed frame with peach linens.
2. Use pink as a neutral

For Natalia, a pale pink accent works well as an alternate room base. I love using pink as a neutral; It is more interesting than beige or dark gray. I designed the living room in my house around just this shade. There is something very comforting about it and the warm tones feel especially warm on a cold day.
To create a cohesive look with pink living room ideas, choose similar colors for furniture and textiles. The silk velvet sofa is Natalia’s own design and the shaggy silk rug is by Sinclair Till (Opens in a new tab) In subtle shades of pink and cream.
Natalia recommends starting with creating small layers and adding important layers through accessories or artwork. The latter was used in her living room as a starting point for the entire scheme.
The color composition of the artwork above the sofa by Cuban artist Gustavo Acosta (Opens in a new tab) It directly affected the color palette you chose. Havana’s pink skyline creates a beautiful accent and brings everything together.
Deep layers of pink from the artwork to the furniture add warmth to this living room.
3. Pink color combined with perforated patterns

One of Natalia’s tricks is to make sure that decorating a pink room looks contemporary and fresh is by contrasting it with other colors in unexpected ways. For example, in a recent project, she paired pink and navy blue on a vibrant patterned headboard.
I like to use contrasting graphic prints anchored in a subtle theme. Here, the bed is the anchor of the room and you can enjoy the style as it is a relatively small cost.
For a softer approach to print, consider modern flowers on textiles, such as pillows or curtains, instead.
4. Use a deep earthy pink to create a cocoon feel

Being somewhere people pass by rather than stay put, the lobby gives way to bold colors that make a real impact. In her hallway, Natalia chose a shade of raspberry red to present the pink look in an elegant way.
“It’s not a color I’ve used before and I tested six colors before deciding on this one,” she recalls. I wanted to feel like I was going to a different space that was unique and distinct. Guests always comment on the color and I hope I’ve inspired a few of them to try something new.
5. Decorate with pink accents

For anyone wary of decorating with pink as a hero color, Natalia recommends starting with small layers and adding layers of interest through accessories or artwork. Here, the details are more noticeable when compared to the charcoal walls.
Which pink color should I choose for my room?
Which shade of pink you choose for your room depends on a number of factors: the direction and nature of the daylight that the room receives – warm or cold; the time of day when the room is used – both in daylight and under artificial light; the effect you want to create – light and airy or warm and cocooned; And use the room. Warm and dark pink color will make the room more comfortable and welcoming, but darker and smaller; Light shades will enhance the space but make the room feel cooler.
Before you choose the shade of pink for your room, it is necessary to test different shades, on all four walls, at all times of the day and evening. In this way, you can choose the perfect color. Remember that when the paint dries, it generally darkens, so leave your judgment until you have two coats, completely dry.
How do interior designers use pink?
Interior designers have started using pink recently, with deep earthy shades with a hint of raspberry or orange matching the earthy shades that fit in with the pink trend of decorating. These deep, earthy pinks generally go well with neutrals and naturals – honey beige, warm brown, creamy white, and even black.
Interior designers also use pink in natural materials, such as veined marble, on tables and worktops in kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, and bedrooms.
What colors go with pink?
Most colors go pink, but if you want a sophisticated look, stick to decorating with pink and natural shades, especially earthy tones, like warm browns and cinnamon. Other colors that go with pink and look elegant include black, dark blue, deep green, and orange.
Consider the tone of pink, too – and match that tone with that of your other colors, rather than combining, for example, an earthy pink with a cool pastel blue.
