With no ability to move or remove the panel structures dividing this apartment, the challenge was to arrange the functional areas to best serve the new homeowners. Viktoriia Aloshyna visualizes the 35.3 sq m apartment with entry hall with wardrobe, kitchen, dining room, combined bathroom, utility group, living room merging with bedroom, master wardrobe and dressing area. The interior is pure white and light green beauty with a soft and relaxing ambiance. Storage is installed in every nook and cranny to maintain a clear and open attraction without visible noise or confusion.
We begin our tour of this cozy apartment in the living room, where soft gray walls, a small sofa, and a complementing upholstered chair build a soothing color base combined with pure white elements. Framed wall art places a warm visual anchor on the sofa’s focal wall.
A black side table and matching black floor lamp put a dark contrast around one end of the sofa, where they form a comfortable and functional reading area. A small patterned rug puts a light pause on wood floors.
The end of the living room window transforms its function into a cozy bedroom nook. A solid white platform bed base visually separates the bedroom area from the lounge and provides plenty of storage space as well. Olive-colored pillows and a matching throw add a muted splash of color.
The platform bed and main wardrobe form a single cube that can be separated behind a portieri curtain. The curtain is transparent so the natural light from the window can still fall on the hall when the bedroom is closed.
A decorative vase adds a contrasting black accent to the white radiator cap under the window, where a beautiful bird figurine looks out toward the cityscape.
An open shelving unit gives a decorative finish to the bedroom’s cube of white cabinetry collection. A simple set of books and a few small candles decorate the tower of the shelves. The floating dressing table is placed next to the bedroom cube to form a dressing area with a large mirror.
A small TV is mounted on the wall next to the vanity area, which can be viewed from both the sofa and the bed.
The specially designed floor-to-ceiling vanity mirror enhances the light and space perception in the small room.
The kitchen-diner is isolated from the living room/bedroom, separated by the entry hall. The kitchen is a compact room and so simple white kitchen units were used to help the space feel larger and brighter.
A small dining table is placed in the corner of the room by the window. Modern white dining chairs with olive seat cushions sleep two. A small dining table pendant lamp attractively holds a small dining set in place.
Open kitchen shelves provide the opportunity to add a little décor to a minimalist kitchen installation.
Black fixtures make a stark contrast to the white cabinets in the small kitchen. The light gray worktop subtly shades the setting area.
The apartment originally had a very long balcony area. To make better use of this extra space, the outside porch area was halved in favor of a new interior that could accommodate small homeowners in all weathers.
In the spacious home’s entryway, a tufted cube pillow creates a deep olive accent next to a mirrored wall. A bench and mirror are a handy place to get dressed when slipping on shoes and checking in at the last minute before heading out the door.
An LED light strip runs along the top edge of a custom-designed mirror to provide bright illumination when there are no windows.
A floor-to-ceiling mirror expands the look of the hallway on one side, while a small hallway shelf provides an easy place to put keys and phones. A small lamp gives a soft glow to the mantel, which acts as a nightlight in the hallway after dark.
An enclosed balcony provides a cozy reading nook and serves as valuable storage space as well. There’s a storage drawer hidden tucked away at the deep base of the built-in reading chair, and shallow upper cabinets extend all the way to the ceiling line. Narrow shelves add a decorative element.
The remaining outdoor porch serves the couple well in warm weather. A modern set of outdoor chairs and a small side table is a great place to have a coffee.
Vertical subway tiles line the walls from the vanity backsplash to the shower wall. The extra narrow towel warmer and fabric laundry basket are squeezed into a tight angle between them. A corner shower cubicle provides a pathway through the small bathroom while still providing enough space inside.
The bathroom doubles as a utility room, and the green olive oil appliance condominium has a washer and dryer and carefully conceals laundry supplies above.
The 3D floor plan illustrates the new division of the balcony space between outdoor and indoor use.
The outside balcony area is accessed via the new interior section, where the door can be propped up to open to create a gentle breeze in the reading nook.
