Corsair vs. Q3: Past and Present Beginners

Lincoln Corsair

The 2020 Lincoln Corsair is an all-new luxury compact SUV that replaces the Lincoln MKC. It shares platforms with Ford Escape. An improvement over the MKC, Corsair’s exterior features the brand’s “Quiet Flight” approach to design. This includes a distinctive grille, full-width taillights and S-shaped side stripes on the side panels. While most would be happy with any available engine, the company is preparing a 2021 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring hybrid with all-wheel drive. Expect about 25 miles of electric range.

Audi Q3

The 2020 Audi Q3 is a second-generation model that shares platforms with the Volkswagen Golf. Consider the Q3 a slightly smaller version of the popular Audi Q5, which is a nice compliment. The 2020 Audi Q3 arrives with a modified version of its big brother engine but many of the same features in a more compact package. Introduced in 2018, the only change for 2020 was the addition of a USB-C plug inside the cabin. The standard Q3 model will likely be carried over for 2021, but other future variants will likely include the Sportback, e-tron (all electric) and the high-performance RS Q3 model with 400 hp.

Similarity

Both the Lincoln Corsair and Audi Q5 offer five-passenger seats, turbocharged 4-cylinder engines, and an all-wheel drive system. While option packages vary, much of the same types of safety and luxury gear are shared here.

Lincoln Corsair Advantages

More powerful motor, more interior space, more cargo space

Features of the Audi Q3

Low base pricing. Excellent build quality and structural engineering

Final Recommendation

Lincoln’s drive for world-class products is evident in the all-new Corsair, which is arguably the best domestic offering in the segment. Lincoln is beautifully designed, spacious, comfortable, technologically advanced and packed with benefits. The Audi Q3 is a well-made, compact European luxury SUV, but the American model doesn’t share its smooth 7-speed DCT transmission with its European counterparts, and this significantly detracts from the driving experience. When comparing the Lincoln Corsair to the Audi Q3, our nod goes to Lincoln.
