Summer is coming to a close, but there’s still plenty of time to get out and enjoy what Mid-Michigan has to offer this season!

Here’s a look at what’s happening across the region this weekend from August 20-21, 2022.

The 2022 Danish Festival will be held in Greenville through Sunday (18-21 August). The event features an artist and boutique exhibition, multiple parades, helicopter rides and much more. do not miss Amazing fireworks (Fireworks Spectacular) Saturday evening at Orchard Farm.


Calhoun County Fair

Michigan’s longest running fair marks its 174th year at the Marshall Fairgrounds. Featuring the Calhoun County Livestock Fair, demolition derby, games, food, and more, Thursday through Saturday (August 18-20).


DeWitt Ox Roast

Ready for the 76th Annual DeWitt Ox Roast? It takes place Friday through Sunday (August 19-21) in downtown DeWitt. Enjoy pancake breakfast, midway rides, frog jumping, duck racing, tractor pulling and much more.


Woodward Dream Cruise

The annual Woodward Dream Cruise takes place on Saturday (August 20th) from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Classic car-centric events are planned along historic Woodward Avenue from Pontiac to Ferndale. Many antique and classic car exhibitions will be held. There will be plenty of parades and a wide variety of souvenir merchandise available.


Michigan Dog Festival

This one is for dogs! (And the people who love them). The Michigan Dog Fest takes place Saturday and Sunday (August 20-21) in the village of Canterbury in Lake Orion. Rescue organizations will be on site, and there will be plenty for your furry friends to do. Be sure to watch Ultimate Air Dogs shows at noon, 2pm and 4pm on both days!


Michigan Renaissance Festival

The Michigan Renaissance Holi Festival returns early this weekend (August 20-21) and runs every weekend through October 2. The official website of the event is “a charming 16th century European village with 17 stages of exciting entertainment including: musicians, magicians, jugglers and jousts”.


Montrose Blueberry Festival

Montrose Downtown is hosting the annual Montrose Blueberry Festival through Sunday (August 21). Expect handcrafted beer and wine tastings, live entertainment, a carnival ride, and plenty of blueberry-themed activities.
