Alison de Lara Bell, owner of Kersey Mill said: “We host large groups of cars that bring on their rides, along with prestige singles and classic cars. We’ve got some in car trunks, it’s very special. This year we’re expecting a very large number of cars. From Minis to Morgans and so much more.”

Ms. De Lara Bell added: “Last year’s event was a record-breaking event with more than 300 cars on display.

“We had over 1,500 visitors that year as well. The atmosphere is great, the groups accelerating and rushing one by one. Some of the car groups have up to 50 cars.”

The Miller’s Kitchen will offer refreshments, bacon rolls, cakes and barbecue treats.

The national event called One Thousand Mile Trial has been organized at various locations every year since 1900. The exhibition has been used to demonstrate the feasibility of a new invention, such as the automobile.

The Thousand Mile Trial began in London and then followed the path to Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester, among others. For the past six years, people living in and around Ipswich have enjoyed viewing both classic and vintage cars.

Kersey Mill hosted their first Drive It Day gathering in 2016 and quickly became known as a popular meeting place for vintage and classic cars.

The event also marks the start of the season for drivers of prestigious and vintage cars.
