Chevrolet Reimagines the Dream Garage for Electric Vehicle Owners with Snack Food Fomo Gas Station
Garage makeover shows how electric vehicle drivers charging at home can enjoy chips, foot slices and pizza
Detroit Chevrolet today unveiled a complete garage renovation inspired by a Bolt EV owner who realized she was missing out on her favorite gas station purchases as she charged her car at home and skipped the gas station altogether.
After years of hearing stories from Bolt EV owners who love living the EV lifestyle — especially the advantage of not having to buy or pump gas thanks to charging at home — there were a few things many EV drivers said they missed. That is, they miss the guilty snacks found in the gas station mini-mart. With so many electric vehicle owners charging at home now, Chevrolet decided to convert a Bolt EV owner’s garage into an “absolute EV garage” to show how EV drivers can get the best of both worlds: indulging in the delicious foods they love, while charging their electric vehicle. at home.
Chevrolet has teamed up with celebrity designer and builder Wendell Holland, known for his acclaimed home design TV shows, to remodel the garage of Denver resident and Chevy Bolt owner Pamela Tully into an in-house convenience store. Chevy even polled the brand’s social media audience to gather followers’ favorite snacks and incorporate them into the transformation. Pamela’s garage is now filled with gas station favorites like a frozen drink machine, a hot dog reheater, a beef bacon buffet, potato chips, candy, a beverage fridge and more.

“I’ve seen firsthand how homeowners develop their space to fit the electric car lifestyle, so collaborating with Chevy on this garage transformation was a perfect fit,” Holland said. “To create the perfect garage space for Pamela, we combined inspiration from gas station-loving snacks and transformed the space into a modern oasis for electric car living.”
With many consumers considering switching to electric vehicles, Chevrolet is helping owners see the opportunity to reimagine their garage. In fact, Chevrolet makes it easy for Bolt EV and Bolt EUV owners to charge at home. Chevrolet will cover standard installation of a Level 2 charging port for eligible customers who purchase or lease a 2022, 2023 Bolt EV, or Bolt EUV1. In collaboration with Qmerit, Chevrolet’s official partner for installing electric vehicle charging solutions, the offering gives customers access to faster charging where they want it.
“One of the best things about living with electric vehicles is charging or ‘refueling’ at home,” said Steve Majoros, Chevrolet Vice President of Marketing. “We want to provide Chevy customers with a seamless ability to enjoy charging at home as we bring more electric vehicles to the market. This garage change is one example of the creative ways electric vehicle drivers can enjoy what they missed by skipping the gas station.”
While charging at home is critical to electric vehicle owners, GM is also investing nearly $750 million in the electric vehicle charging ecosystem with Ultium Charge 360. This investment will expand access to charging at home and at work, as well as public charging. Throughout the city, fast charging stations and express charging along highways enable long-distance electric travel. Today, a Chevy customer with the myChevrolet mobile app2 Capable of reaching over 100,000 public charging devices through this integration with over 11 major charging networks.
