Cadillac Unveils Escalade – In 2023, Most Powerful SUV To Date – Rob Report

Cadillac introduced the Escalade-V for the first time in January. Now the brand is properly introducing us to what it claims is the most powerful full-size SUV in the industry.

As the “V” designation suggests, this massive four-wheeler is part of the Cadillac V-Series that first launched in 2004 and now includes a line of high-performance vehicles tuned by the good folks at GM. Like its V-Class brethren, the new Escalade promises agility, agility and a strong dose of luxury.

Under the hood, the new addition features a 6.2-liter V-8 engine similar to Cadillac’s CT5-V Blackwing but a larger supercharger than its predecessor. As a result, the AWD SUV can produce 682 hp and 653 lb.ft. of torsion, while the aforementioned sedan is suitable for 668 hp and 659 lb.ft. This makes the Escalade-V the most powerful Cadillac ever produced. (For comparison’s sake, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid delivers 671 hp while the Lamborghini Urus produces 650 hp.)

The Escalade-V can produce 682 horsepower and 653 foot-pounds.

The Escalade-V is fast too, with the ability to sprint from zero to 60 mph in under 4.4 seconds, according to the automaker. The powerful mill is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and makes noises from the quad exhaust pipes. The car is also equipped with six-piston Brembo brakes that provide stopping power and adaptive air suspension for a smoother ride.

On the outside, Cadillac didn’t deviate much from the regular Escalade except for a few V-specific touches, including newly designed front and rear fascias, uniquely styled 22-inch wheels and model-specific badges throughout. The SUV spans 212 feet from edge to tail, but there’s also an Escalade that spans 227 feet. As you might expect, the ESV variant gives passengers a little more legroom.

The SUV features a 38-inch curved screen in the Escalade.

Inside, meanwhile, the cabin is presented in platinum inlays with Zebra Wood décor. All three rows are finished with leather, and the front seats are also heated and ventilated. Of course, you can expect Escalade’s signature curved OLED screen with 38 inches of diagonal display, along with a 36-speaker audio system and the latest driver assistance technology.

According to Cadillac, the 2023 Escalade-V will go on sale late this summer and start at $149,990.

“With a best-in-class power-to-weight ratio and advanced driving technologies to put that power on the curb, the Escalade delivers an engaging and dynamic driving experience unmatched by other luxury full-size SUVs,” said Jacqueline McQuaid, chief engineer for the company’s full-size trucks. General Motors in a statement. “Most importantly, it meets the stringent requirements of the V-Series Mondrian badge.”
