On August 10, 2021, the team held an event with the Luxury Rally Club in Miami, Curated, which will mark an indelible mark in automotive history. Twenty-nine vintage Lamborghini models, including twenty-two Countach, have been emptied into the parking lot of the Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay in preparation for their online debut. Everything from “low-end” cars to 25th Anniversary Editions was shown as their doors opened.
That night, the Luxury Rally Club held a dinner where drivers had the opportunity to glimpse new Roger Dubuis x Lamborghini watches from behind their talented pairs of Leisure Society glasses. Then the drivers went to their rooms as they prepared for the trip of a lifetime.
On the second day, the cars started lining up with Valentino Balboni who drove the group to Monterrey. 22 Countach cars take to the streets with the LM002 “Granada-Dakar”, Diablo GT, SE30 and SVR following behind. The evolution of Lamborghini cars lined up one by one as the iconic audience for the 50th anniversary of Countach. The cars blocked the curb in Santa Cruz and then made their way to Monterey, where their angular shapes herald a week of automotive excellence.
And on the third day, The Countach Rally was able to make every car enthusiast’s dream come true. All the cars made their way to Laguna Seca for a demonstration ride around the track. Seeing so many Countaches is an amazing sight in itself, but seeing them hit the infamous “Corkscrew” was really exhilarating. From there, the cars were shown at the Saint Lucia Preserve until they blasted into the field of Friday’s The Quail event.
The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering helped bring racing back full circle, as this was the day the brand new Lamborghini Countach was revealed. Regardless of personal opinion, experiencing a week of retro Countach charm culminating in a rebirth within the latest style is an unforgettable experience. A performance like this, which unites nostalgia with radical modernity, makes all Curated’s hard work worth it.
Trevor Johnson and his team are top notch. They have created an experience unlike anything that has been done before in the automotive field.
