Audi e-tron electrifies the ‘Quadruple Ring’ model lineup

The Audi e-tron

Kingston, Jamaica – The Audi e-tron made its world debut in 2018, the brand’s first all-electric SUV with the Four Rings.

The SUV combines the space and comfort of a typical luxury car with a package suitable for everyday use, pushing the driver into a new era with its electric all-wheel drive system. After much anticipation and preparations on the ground, the e-tron will arrive on the shores of Jamaica and Audi Jamaica will present its first all-electric, full-size SUV suitable for everyday use in July 2022.

Uchi Maclean, Sales Director, Audi Jamaica, said: “Our excitement continues to grow as the arrival of the first all-electric e-tron approaches. Whether stationary or on the go, the Audi e-tron electrifies. It offers the spaciousness and comfort of one of the typical full-size Audis paired with high-quality materials and meticulous workmanship, making electric mobility an excellent experience. Expressive sill area, electric rear panel and light gray monocoque are indications of high voltage technology that delivers a special driving experience.

The panoramic roof of the Audi e-tron, multi-colored ambient lighting and a Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound system with 3D sound create an ultimate sensory experience. The raised roofline provides additional space within the cabin without sacrificing seating space. As IIHS’ Top Safety Pick, the Audi e-tron has standard driver-assist technology, such as semi-autonomous driving modes, adaptive cruise control, autonomous parking assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning.

The electric utility vehicle is powered by two powerful, locally CO2 neutral and nearly silent electric motors. A new generation of quattro all-wheel drive, electric all-wheel drive, ensures excellent traction and dynamics. It ensures continuous and variable regulation of the perfect distribution of torque between the two axles – within a fraction of a second.

The main factor of the sporty character and outstanding transverse dynamics is the low and central position of the battery system. It gives the car a suitable range for long-distance driving. During more than 90 percent of all idling, the Audi e-tron recovers power only via its electric motors. The electric SUV makes the most of its recovery potential in conjunction with the integrated electro-hydraulic brake control system. Audi is the first car manufacturer in the world to use such a system in the production of electric cars. Cleverly designed aerodynamics also contribute significantly to its efficiency.

It is equipped with MMI navigation as well as LTE Advanced and a Wi-Fi hotspot as standard. Many assistance systems increase driver comfort. For example, Standard Efficiency Assist enhances an economical driving style by displaying predictive information and performing an automatic recovery. If the customer chooses the adaptive cruise assist, the system can also predictively brake and accelerate the electric SUV.

Later this year, Audi Jamaica will welcome two additional models to the e-tron lineup: the e-tron Sportback and the RS e-tron GT. The e-tron Sportback is the sporty coupe version of the e-tron, and is popular with Audi models that follow in the footsteps of fellow models Q3 Sportback, Q5 Sportback and Q8. The RS e-tron GT high-performance four-door sports coupe is where progression meets power featuring Launch Control, boosting power to 637 hp. With electronic torque vectoring as well as ensuring enviable stability and handling in any driving situation, this highly adaptive all-wheel drive system intuitively powers each axle individually, delivering exceptional traction, no matter the road conditions.

Without the traditional combustion engine, Audi designers were able to instill a sense of open space for occupants while still maintaining a driver-centric character.

As a global market leader in its class; Audi’s first all-electric series model is popular all over the world with customers and the media alike. Numerous awards and comparative tests prove this. In 2019, the e-tron won more than two-thirds of all comparative tests. In addition, AUTO BILD Allrad readers voted the e-tron the “4WD Car of the Year” in the “Hybrid and Electric SUV” category in Germany in 2019, to name a few.

The new Audi e-tron arrives at local dealers in July 2022.
