At work with Alpha Bin Cleaning

Something I wasn’t aware of until recently is your litter box cleaning service. Wanting to know more about her, I joined Alpha Ben for cleaning and the owner, Andrew Ramirez, for a day on the job. There I was able to get to know them, learn what the process entailed, and help educate others about something that might be new to them.

Granted, cleaning the trash is a luxury, but it has its benefits. Aside from the basics like sterilizing, disinfecting, and killing germs, bacteria and diseases inside your trash, there are other things that help with that. For starters, many homeowners’ associations require you to keep bins inside, so having a clean bin will help keep the flies away. Our son is beyond disgusting. Between diapers when we’re too lazy to fit in bags, kids pouring drinks in there, and random food tossing in the trash and public trash, our trash has become a Disney world of flies and bugs.

I went out with Andrew for about an hour to see what he’s doing and watch him in action.

For starters, if anyone has ever met Andrew, he has an upbeat and infectious personality. It was crazy and wonderful to hear him talk about Alpha Bin. There was a strong passion in his voice for what he was doing.

As he followed him, each cleanup began by wiping the boxes inside and spraying them inside and out.

From there, his truck lifts the boxes and cleans them deeper. This was probably the longest process of them all.

During this time, Andrew tells me, he ran his business with a basic sprinkler and regular truck. Over time, he and his wife built the company, worked on finding new customers and finally bought the truck you see below.

Once that was done, he sprayed the boxes down again, turned them over to dry, and then gave them a nice disinfectant spray.

The biggest question I asked Andrew was the cost.

It was way more affordable than I thought. The monthly service fee ranges from $10-12, depending on whether you have prepaid. A bi-monthly cleaning costs $13 while a quarterly cleaning costs $15. After that, a one-time service cleaning costs $20. They told me that the coupon code 5 off It was available for one-time cleaning to try.

Sitting with Andrew at work has been fun and insightful. I have a deep level of appreciation for entrepreneurs who started something out of nothing with hardly any help. Andrew and his wife Emily did a great job building the Alpha Bin Cleaning.
