Text description provided by the architects. Manoj Patel Design Studio’s new workspace spans over 1,350 square feet of land. Surrounded by urban fabric, it is about volumetric block game along with colorful graphics. To create a material palettes experience, touching, feeling and understanding them in detail was the main idea of creating the CO-Working studio space. Upon entering, the studio greets with bold, adaptive artwork on the entry gate of terracotta tiles filled with stonework and colour. The studio facelift appears to be a metaphor for the surrounding natural habitat. The floral differences seem to be a carved line between studio space and art installations.

The amphitheater connected to the interior has a dedicated feature wall with minimal ceiling that is set up to enjoy the festivities of creating a pathway for communication and the design community and becoming a place for experiences, learning and sharing of ideas together. The visual identity uses bold multicolored shades with huge areas to convey a vibrant image of youth and storytelling within the workspace. A large translucent metal door welcomes inside the main office space. The long spatial arrangement of the reception and the informal waiting area indicates an open feature of the welcome lobbies. The background mural’s ambition was to craft the clay into an accurate wall hanging that draws on the curves and creates curiosity around you when passers-by visit. The elevator wall is incarnated with terracotta tiles and the mosaic tile group highlights the variables within the space.

A series of intense design layouts created a three-height recreation nook of pockets with activities, 3D metallic murals, and terracotta units on the vertical wall. One can visually feel this connection through unobstructed openings. Accurate color horizontal and vertical bending geometry introduces a new form of wall material panel collection. A new ideology is taken into consideration while designing the three-height mural, which can evolve over time with new ideas to explore texture for new generations. The facade explores another surface treatment of the studio’s handcrafted material details. Strips of vernacular material are directed to form free-form floral shapes that change accordingly. Intertwined with the light blue color and the balcony curtains emerge from the volume of the facade. The Convertible Principal Architect’s cabin in a conference area collaborates with seating space for informal conversations and meetings as part of different experiences.

The spaces are arranged as open and closed pockets around the central lounge on the first floor. This lounge is based on the idea of creating a space with unique combinations of organic shapes, neutral colors and curved graphics on the wall. The triple height building connects the spaces via different openings, which essentially serve as a perforation for further communication. On the above floors of the staff work desk, a thoughtful intervention has been added. A bridge with double height connections on the two floors above, to connect with teammates and get learning or transfer learning easily without any barriers. A series of different visual work pockets turns into a mixture of work, interaction and relaxation for the employees as well as the customers who visit. While traveling from floor to floor there are tiled backdrops designed to serve as an engaging storytelling concept within the studio.

The studio is always ready to try new things and constantly develop them into implementations. For this, the office has created an in-house materials studio where manufacturers can interact directly with project leaders and integrate collaborative processes. Given the new perspectives and technological upgrading in the same sector, digitization has also been added to this space. The cantilevered balcony projections ensure safety and generate a curiosity to connect with each other in the outdoors. Colorful textures display a gradient effect on delicate walls.

One feature wall showcases possibilities on materials that can be changed by applications and can be used as many times as the designer’s ideas. The co-working space divides the functions based on the public and private intervention in the building on the floors above. Thinking outside the box, the studio has included a penthouse on the last two floors to serve as a relaxation area for staff along with introducing clients to the techniques and planning trends fitted inside. The barrier-free studio living room includes spaces that are open but catering to specific needs. The casual bar stool outside on the balcony garden features green and self-sustaining biophilic designs that breathe in natural light and ventilation. Playing mood lights and music re-establishes the connection to work in nature to draw inspiration and a progressive personality to the mind.
