A big luxury sedan with a little appetite for the car

The Toyota Avalon does not get the recognition it deserves in the world of luxury cars. It might have something to do with the big European cars that steal the spotlight or are somehow more memorable than competitors like the Nissan Maxima. One of the Toyota Avalon’s best attributes is its excellent fuel economy, especially when customers choose the hybrid powertrain. Quite simply, the 2022 Toyota Avalon is a big sedan with little appetite for cars and one of the best affordable luxury cars on the market.

How fuel efficient is the latest Avalon?

New Toyota Avalon | Toyota

The Toyota Avalon 2022 is very fuel efficient if you choose the vehicle with a hybrid configuration. Gas-powered models typically average about 22 mpg in city and 31 mpg at highway speeds. That’s commendable for a car the size of an Avalon but not great. However, TrueCar states that the Toyota Avalon Hybrid XLE FWD is good for 43 mpg city and 44 mpg highway speeds. That’s exciting considering the size of the Toyota Avalon.
