Grand Touring cars are designed to cross continents with ultimate luxury, serenity and comfort. Bentley has been making these types of cars for decades and they are arguably the best in them, however, many other automakers have tried to equal or beat the best – Mercedes-Benz for example.
Mercedes-Benz’s most popular model is undoubtedly the S-Class – their flagship luxury car – which has always been available only as a four-door saloon. Mercedes produced a two-door S-class, but the cars had different names, such as SEC and CL-Class. When production of the last generation of the CL ceased, Mercedes simply created the S-Class Coupe and Convertible as an alternative.
While the S-Class Coupé is an excellent touring car with which to conquer the Autobahn, there are more elegant luxury touring cars in the same price category as Mercedes Benz The S-Class Coupé we’d rather buy.

8 Polestar 1

Polestar 1 is known for doing just about everything. The vehicle has a 2.0-liter, supercharged and turbocharged engine, features an integrated starting alternator, an under-ground battery pack, and is plug-in charging, making it a PHEV. This vehicle has multiple driving modes to allow it to drive on engine only, which makes it front wheel drive, or electric only, which makes it rear wheel drive.

All power systems can also be integrated into Sport mode, with 600 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque going to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. This highly complex propulsion system results in a gross weight of about 5,200 pounds and an electric-only range of just 150 miles—not particularly impressive. However, the selling point is the design. It’s a beautiful blend of the functional simplicity found in today’s Volvo design language and looks great.

7 Nissan GT-R

The Nissan GT-R may be more of a supercar than the GT, however, and it still has many of the GT’s features – a powerful engine at the front, a two-door design, and all-four-wheel drive (as does the new GT seemingly as the car’s standard). ). The GT-R is quite an old model even now, having been introduced in 2009, but it has received multiple updates over the years, including the NISMO version.

The R35 GT-R is equipped with a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 that produces 565 horsepower and 467 pound-feet of torque that goes to all four wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The GT-R can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 2.7 seconds and maintain a top speed of 204 mph.

6 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT

The Mercedes-AMG GT is a preferred choice over the S-Class Coupe because – like the Nissan GT-R – it follows the path of the sports car/GT. The car was designed to rival the Porsche 911, making it a sports car, but it doesn’t have quite the same level of efficiency as the 911. The AMG GT was also a replacement for the SLS AMG, which was a GT car above all.

The AMG GT has many different models, but the most famous was the AMG GT S, which was fitted with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 515 horsepower and 494 pound-feet of torque, transmitted to the rear wheels only via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

5 Lexus LC

The Lexus LC is the go-to option for grand tourers from Japan, which features a superb 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8. The LC looks like a production concept car with its impressive design and streamlined lines. It really is one of the best cars for sale right now.

The LC is available in two trims, the LC500h and LC500. The first has a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 with a hybrid powertrain geared for efficiency, while the second is a GT in real form, with the aforementioned V8. The LC comes standard with a 10-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, but its greatest features are the styling, glamorous interior and V8 sound.

4 BMW M8

The BMW M8 is the rival of the S-Class Coupe from Bavaria. It is powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, with power transmitted to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. The car produces nearly 600 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, enough to rocket the car from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds and to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

While the M8 is the more performance-oriented version of the 8 Series, it still features GT car options, making it an excellent alternative to the Mercedes S-Class Coupé — and even Bentley’s Continental GT.

3 Aston Martin Vantage

The Vantage may be the smallest in the Aston Martin lineup, but it’s still a huge force. Featuring the same engine as the S-Class Coupe, it generates 503 horsepower and 505 pound-feet of torque going to the rear wheels only by choosing between an 8-speed automatic transmission or a dogleg 7-speed manual transmission – the AMG V8’s only manual application.

The Vantage falls on the sporty side of the GT spectrum, allowing it to be used for a more versatile purpose. The styling is more modern than the classic Aston Martin, but it’s still one of the coolest coupes on the market.

2 Porsche 911

The Porsche 911 was established as the best sports car money can buy. Plus, the 911 makes a great GT, too—not the best, but competitive. The current-generation 911 Carrera S/4S is equipped with a 3.0-liter flat-twin turbocharged, producing 444 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque going to rear or all-wheel drive via a choice of a 7-speed manual or 8-speed PDK transmission.

The 911 Carrera S can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds (3.6 for the 4S) and can last a top speed of over 190 mph – making it one of the fastest and least powerful cars on this list.

1 Maserati GranTurismo

The Maserati GranTurismo may not be the first – or any – option on many shortlists, but it has something few other cars have. The Maserati GranTurismo has the best engine sound of any car currently for sale. Natural suction capacity 4.7 liters F136 The Ferrari V8 produces 450 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque, with power only transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The GranTurismo is one of the most exciting cars of the last decade and certainly one of the greatest. While it does have some issues with electronics and the fact that almost everything is hard to turn on, it doesn’t matter which one when you’re driving – the noises from the engine and exhaust are totally intoxicating and cancel out everything. What a great car.
